Andrew Whitney

After training in Architectural Design and then working in the Hawkes Bay for a number of years Andrew took flight like many other young New Zealanders to see the big wide world. Working as an Architectural Designer for much of his 3 years in Great Britain he felt the pull of home and he returned inspired by his travels through China, Russia, Europe and Great Britain.

On his return in 2000, refreshed and inspired Andrew took the leap to become Self Employed and thus Andrew Whitney Design Ltd was born.

Phillip Craft

Architectural Technician
Bachelor in Design (Interior)

After the completion of his degree in Design Phil enjoyed a welcome break from tertiary education and took a job as events co-ordinator for a local hire company to save for his obligatory ‘O.E’. The next 4 years he gained valuable experience working in hospitality management in Central London, and travelling Asia and Europe. After observing much of Europe’s best Architecture Phil returned to New Zealand inspired and committed to using his degree in the Architectural field. Phillip joined the Andrew Whitney Design Ltd team in July 2005 and adds his considerable design talents to our design team.

Justin Reichs

Architectural Technician
Diploma in Visual Arts & Design

Justin has always enjoyed working with his hands; He is a widely collected jade and gemstone carver. It was his skills as a carver he employed to pay his way through his 3-year Diploma in Visual Arts & Design. Justin joined the Andrew Whitney Design Ltd team in February 2008. Having gained a great deal of experience working with timber both as a craftsman and in a lumberyard Justin brings considerable practical knowledge to the team.  His strong focus on design, methodical planning and patience are greatly valued assets to the team.
